Upon receiving this jacket I found it to be of a very high quality as promised. The design is top notch and very flattering. The free shipping was very fast for an item coming over the Atlantic.
I will say that it is a touch on the small side for what I would have expected of an extra large (at least an American XL) and fits more like a large. The primary spots that a jacket needs to fit are the shoulders and that is spot on. The hips are nipped a bit closer than I would have expected for a jacket this long as it does extend down to the seat nearly as long as a suit jacket would. The chest and waist are both what I would expect and it does fit well just with perhaps a bit less room for layering than I would have expected. The arm length is long, though not too long. This is far better than a too-short cut on the arm and the biased length is a very nice feature. For the record, I'm 6-foot and 215 pounds and the sizing assistance tool did recommend an XXL for me. My build has less chest to waist drop than many. I'm still glad that I went with an XL as I would prefer a snugger fit in the hips than a loose chest, shoulders cut too wide, or arms too long.
Overall, I am very pleased with the jacket, especially at the price it was offered. I will be buying other jackets from Frahm in the future.
This is yet another glowing review telling you how happy I am with my new UF jacket, much the same is all the others... but this is due to the fact it’s a belter!
I’m 6 ft and about 13 st and the large fits nicely. It’s not cheap but nor should it be, it’s a quality and versatile bit of kit. Much lighter than you’d think and it is looking/feeling better the more I wear it. It’s like a modern take on the wax jacket done right.
Dealing with a company with a personal touch that adds to it all. You have access directly to Nick himself, if you need help with anything the man himself who will speak to you... he helped when purchasing my 2nd jacket the lightweight worker.
I’m 90kg and 6’4”. I have a Utility Field Jacket in ‘Tall Large’ and it fits beautifully. Would move up to an XL if I wanted to fit much more than a John Smedley beneath it. Love the cut, the material and the detailing. Pockets just the right sizes in just the right places. The only thing I can’t do is button it around my 17” neck.
Fits perfectly. Purchased a large. I’m 5’9, a bit over 13 stones. Bought this as a replacement for another very nice field jacket that was stolen from me. Was worried I wouldn’t be able to find anything as good. But I LOVE this jacket. Thinking of getting a second. Looks great. Recommend you buy one.
I ordered my Utility Field jacket (size medium, in the black colour) late on Wednesday and it arrived on Saturday morning. I was immediately impressed by it – the go to Belstaff has already gone to the back of the cupboard. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for in a jacket; classy, up to the minute design (I’m a designer so I’m particularly fussy about what I wear!), well made, great detailing and a great cut. It fits me perfectly - I’m 6’ 1” tall (when I’m not wearing my anti gravity trousers) and hover around 78 Kg (if I keep walking past the pork pies, as they call to me!). Strangely enough, I also sport what seems to be the obligatory Frahm beard! I’m particularly impressed with the sleeve length. It’s perfect for me.
All in all, I’m chuffed to little mint balls with the jacket – a phrase I’ve not used in a long time. Actually, I’m not entirely sure where the phrase comes from (I hope it doesn’t cause offense to any of the diminutive mint ball community) but it’s supposed to mean I’m highly delighted with my new purchase. So much so, I’ll be pre-ordering a Woodland Worker's jacket tomorrow.
FRAHM jackets are cut for real men's bodies and movement. We've subtly altered classic tailoring for more movement, for real life. Our jackets do not have a restrictive teenage 'fashion' cut. Our customers rave about our fit.
Our best guide to size is your favourite existing jacket or suit jacket. Look for the inches or CM, not "medium" or "large", as these definitions differ wildly between brands.
"Tall" sizes are for very tall men, offering exactly the same jacket with significantly longer arms and torso.Don't buy one if you're above average - our standard sizes will fit. Our arm lengths are longer than most.
If you have any questions or concern you are an unusual fit, email us on email@example.com or Live Chat us (bottom right hand corner here) and we will discuss sizing with your personally.
