Our customers rave about our fit, check out the reviews.

FRAHM jackets are cut for real men's bodies and action. We've subtly altered classic tailoring for more movement, for real life. Our jackets do not have a restrictive teenage 'fashion' cut.

Size by your actual body measurements, not copying your size in another brand. Fit can vary wildly between brands and their size may not be ours.

If you can't measure your chest circumference, the best guide to size is your best fitting existing jacket or suit jacket. Then Live Chat us and we can advise what your size is. We are experienced fitters.

"Tall" sizes are for very tall men, offering exactly the same jacket with significantly longer arms and torso. Don't buy one if you're above average - our standard sizes will fit.

If you have shorter arms, we will happily have your sleeves altered for you when possible (most of the time it is). Please Live Chat or email us to discuss.

Due to unprecedented interest the Parka sold out entirely via pre-order earlier in 2020. Pre orders arriving on November 8th 2021 are now open. As we make a limited number each year, we expect all 2021 orders to sell well in advance. Please purchase as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Nick’s Design Notes: Parkas are awesome for harsh winter conditions, but the big brands seem intent on making either shiny synthetic or baggy fashion versions. I wanted to make a world-beater. A more grown up, less flimsy, more detailed parka that oozes quality & longevity. The design references classic Arctic exploration kit & Scandinavian military designs, whilst increasing performance. My initial design notes say "built like a tank". It is.

READ DESIGN DETAIL & THERMAL JACKETS COMPARISON BLOG

This jacket is an investment, not a fashion statement. The FRAHM Thermal Utility Parka is the reclamation of a classic that's lost its way in terms of style & quality. We’ve mixed the best of the old and the new, sourcing as close as Lancashire and as far as Japan. Every detail has been pored over. We've tried to think of everything and scrimp on nothing.

It centres around 3 layers of fabric: A heavy grade of washable waxed cotton from Rochdale makes this a jacket you can drag through brambles (we actually test it that way). You couldn't do that with a synthetic down jacket. The insulation is a recycled breathable microfibre, that is far more practical & effective than down feathers. The lining is a wonderfully soft brushed cotton flannel. This all adds up to a lot of comfort and insulation from the elements, for many years, not a season.

All the touch-points are oversized, for ease of use with gloved hands, in harsh conditions. The rare Italian stainless steel clasps are highly practical for gloved hands. Conversely, ultra modern chunky YKK Aquaguard zips keep you sealed in. The peaked hood is cord adjustable around the head and front, for a better fit and clear sight. There are huge cargo pockets and additional hand pockets behind them. The waist is adjustable and the length is mid-thigh for deep Winter warmth, therefore we've put in super tough zips at the hips, so you can sit down with ease.

Use in cool to sub zero weather, in high winds, snow, sustained light rain or showers. With a single layer the temperature range is 0c to +10c, or down to -10c with layers. The fit is forgiving and can accommodate a thick jumper or multiple layers.

Technical notes:

  • Heavy grade British Millerain washable waxed 100% cotton outer
  • Freudenberg machine washable recycled polyester microfibre insulation
  • 100% cotton fast-drying check flannel lining
  • Peaked, insulated & flannel lined hood with multiple adjusters with steel cord adjusters & eyelets
  • Oversize Italian stainless steel exploration clasps
  • Oversize YKK Aquaguard waterproof zips throughout
  • Rare Japanese rubber zip pulls for use with gloved hands
  • YKK zipped chest pocket to fit large smart phone
  • Large front bellows cargo pockets, hand pockets, 2 interior pockets and buttoned left upper arm pocket
  • 100% cotton fine moleskin on hand pockets, front weather placket and neck
  • Custom hardened stainless steel gunmetal Italian snaps
  • Cord adjustment at waist, hood front and hood rear, for ultimate fit
  • Hip zip adjustment for ventilation & sitting in such a long protective coat
  • Oversize slot-buttoned cuff adjustment and scalloped wrist shape to cover knuckles
  • Lighter grade British Millerain inner storm guard waxed fabric inner, below waist, to aid sitting on cold surfaces
  • Twin needle stitching throughout
  • Tonal black FRAHM brand label on right upper arm
  • Lifetime fault guarantee
  • Machine washable

Great weight and Quality

In a world where little seems to matter other than the price, the design houses leverage their brand to provide you with poor quality items at inflated prices, or the hype around the next great thing turns out to be bollocks; I found Frahm. The quality of their coats is outstanding, they delivered on their promise and I can't wait for my next one to arrive. Don't worry about the price, buy one jacket rather than 3 and be happy with it, rather than disappointed 3 times over. Buy it right or buy it twice! Well done Nick!

Winter Wonderland!

It’s taken me quite a while to get round to this review as I wanted to do it justice...and the fact I just put it away for the warmer weather.

My initial impressions were that this is a beast of a jacket! And upon trying it on and even the first few walks that the sleeves were maybe too long (or not as the case may be). I spent a significant amount of time in this through the winter in Scotland from cold windy days to some pretty heavy snowfall and it passed it all. The more I wore it the more I appreciated the longer sleeves and when in deep snow the zips up the sides of the legs. The hood is cracking and super warm. One of my favourite things is the lining which is just class 👌

I wasn’t sure at first what I thought but it grew on me and became a firm favourite!

Fab Frahm Jacket

I bought this jacket for my husband and he absolutely loves it (as do I) The cut, fit and style of the jacket are timeless and this will always be a staple in any man's wardrobe.
I would add that the customer service was impeccable as I ordered the wrong size (twice!!) but the team were so helpful, patient and understanding.
I'm just hoping there will be a female line soon!!

Built to last

This Thermal Military Parka is the fourth jacket I've purchased from Frahm. Initially I purchased the same size as my previous jackets but when it arrived it was absolutely enormous on me, due to the different cut and deliberately oversized proportions - thankfully I was able to exchange it for the next size down. And I'm so glad I did.
I can only echo the other reviews and comments of this coat - it's built like a tank. The weather has been cold and wet since I received my Parka, which has been perfect for test driving it. There's a real feeling of battening down the hatches as you close the various fasteners on the front. None of my other Frahm jackets have hoods but I'd heard good things about the way they had been implemented on other coats and I'm happy to report that the Parka's hood is excellent.
A feature carried over from other jackets is the hand pockets behind the flapped pockets on the front - I absolutely love this feature and wonder why more manufacturers haven't adopted it.
I can't honestly think of anything negative to say - even the customer service was exemplary when resolving the issue of my first jacket being too large. If I was being really harsh I might have knocked off a fraction of a star for having to pay £25 to return the first jacket (it's big, heavy and expensive so this was the only option my Post Office would offer) - but I appreciate that offering free returns would make a big dent in a small company's cashflow.
