My second Frahm jacket arrived just in time as the weather is turning cooler. I walk to and from work every day which in total takes just under two hours a day. So I need something that will last and keep me warm. The Ventile Field Jacket does everything i could ask for. It is a lovely fit for me, I do like the bright orange, the style is great (my wife really is taken by it) and all the detailing is top notch quality. No question: a heck of a lot has gone into the design.
Finally I am a proud owner of a Frahm jacket. Originally I was ordering the original Field Jacket, but due to one thing & another I had to change my plans and thanks to Nick & Emmalou’s patience I ended up deciding on the Ventile Thermal field jacket.
I have to say the wait was well worth it! I was torn between the stunning orange & the navy but having seen them in the flesh the navy really is much closer to black as Nick had said, so I opted for practicality over statement but the orange is truly stunning so it was a tough decision.
The design is classic - really stylish and understated. The pockets are actually practical & useable. The various adjusters really change the fit of the jacket, but the real quality is in the materials Nick has selected. The Ventile is tough but smooth, brilliantly waterproof. The lining is so warm & soft without any of the bulkiness of so many cold weather jackets. As for the insulation - it’s amazing and during this mild spell it has me wishing for some real cold weather to put it through it’s paces as it is too effective right now!
My one piece of constructive feedback on the design would be to make the neck slightly wider as it is a pretty snug fit when done up fully so may struggle with a scarf but given how warm the jacket is I probably won’t need one!
All in all I can’t speak highly enough of this jacket -it has already become my go to jacket. It’s not a cheap jacket, but it wasn’t meant to be - it’s clearly an investment piece and the care & attention Nick has lavished on creating this is clear for all to see.
While it’s my first jacket from Frahm it won’t be my last & I love the fact that patrons are also doing their bit in supporting Mind charity which is superb at this time. Congratulations good people of Frahm, your customer service and your product quality do you proud.
This is the third item of clothing I have bought from Frahm and certainly not my last, the fit and quality of the ventile thermal jacket is unbelievable, yes you can buy cheaper items of clothing but I really believe that you will struggle to get anywhere near the fit and quality of the items that Nick produces, the attention to detail is fantastic with lots of thought and love going into the design and detail that make Frahm stand out from the crowd, purchase from Frahm and trust me you won't be disappointed, it really is worth the investment.
I own several Frahm products - encouraged by Nick’s approach to wellbeing, detail and above all, quality. This jacket was a leap - purely down to the cost - but I’ve got absolutely no regrets. I wanted a ‘grown up’ winter coat - mid 40’s lads in snowboarding jackets dont cut it for me anymore! Despite its understated-ness, it screams class - the material is lovely (tough yet comfortable), the zips and other ‘bits’ are rugged and the feel when you put it on- you know that ‘just right’ sensation? That. It’s also much warmer than I expected. Another cracker from Nick and Emmalou. Looking forward to what 2021 brings.
As per a previous reviewer, buying online is always a gamble in getting the right size. This is my first Frahm jacket (as a treat to myself) and using the 'find the perfect size now' was good. It suggested 'Large' but I still had my doubts. A quick email exchange with Emmalou and I was reassured that L would be the best fit. I'm happy to say that the Large size fit my 5ft11, bit of exercise/sitting in an office all day body perfectly.
The jacket is quality. Everything feels quality...zips, material, lining, the detail, all of it makes it a pleasure to wear. Looks pretty stylish too. Worn a few times on wet dog walks, local cycling and it is super comfortable, warm and water resistant. With all that good stuff, ultimately it is the fit that makes me most happy when wearing this jacket! For me, all Frahm jackets are expensive, so the feeling of having invested in a quality item that fits so well, puts a big smile on my face every time I wear it. Thanks Nick & Emmalou!

Our customers rave about our fit, check out the reviews.
FRAHM jackets are cut for real men's bodies and action. We've subtly altered classic tailoring for more movement, for real life. Our jackets do not have a restrictive teenage 'fashion' cut.
Size by measurements, not that you are a 'Large' or 'XL' in another brand. Fit can vary wildly between brands and their size may not be ours.
If you can't measure your chest circumference, the best guide to size is your best fitting existing jacket or suit jacket. Then Live Chat us and we can advise what your size is. We are experienced fitters.
"Tall" sizes are for very tall men, offering exactly the same jacket with significantly longer arms and torso. Don't buy one if you're above average - our standard sizes will fit. Our arm lengths are longer than most.
If you have short arms, we will happily have your sleeves altered for you when possible (most of the time it is). Please Live Chat or email us to discuss.
