Our customers rave about our fit, check out the reviews.

FRAHM jackets are cut for real men's bodies and action. We've subtly altered classic tailoring for more movement, for real life. Our jackets do not have a restrictive teenage 'fashion' cut.

Size by your actual body measurements, not copying your size in another brand. Fit can vary wildly between brands and their size may not be ours.

If you can't measure your chest circumference, the best guide to size is your best fitting existing jacket or suit jacket. Then Live Chat us and we can advise what your size is. We are experienced fitters.

"Tall" sizes are for very tall men, offering exactly the same jacket with significantly longer arms and torso. Don't buy one if you're above average - our standard sizes will fit.

If you have shorter arms, we will happily have your sleeves altered for you when possible (most of the time it is). Please Live Chat or email us to discuss.

Nick's Design Notes: I wanted a really tough hiking & work waterproof that wasn't geeky. Why can't waterproofs have more structure, storage & style, without the shiny plastic? This needed to be an all-day waterproof for hiking up rain-soaked mountains, that could double up for city meetings, with loads of chunky military-influenced features. Jason & I have been fighting over who tested it. I won, this time.

The FRAHM Waterproof Utility Field Jacket is an extremely tough waterproof that will withstand torrential rain and gorse bushes. It stays crisply, quietly stylish, so it's as useful running for The Tube as it is running down a scree path from mountain lions. It offers serious tech in a subtly stylish & tailored package.

We took our original design, the Utility Field Jacket, and made it longer, with a zip-removable hood & chunky YKK Aquaguard zips. Two large shoulder vents pump warm, moist air out.

The 3-layer fabric is made for us in Como, Italy. Unusually for a waterproof, it is very tough due to the tight cotton twill exterior layer, which gives it smart structure along with abrasion & puncture resistance. The interior layers are waterproof & breathable membranes with a beautiful soft finish. The fabric is unlike any other waterproof, with its luxurious matt finish. Amazingly, it also offers true adventure standard protection, pressure rated 20,000 against water and for breathability.

Wear all year round in Summer thunderstorms, Spring/Autumn changeability or in Winter deluges as a shell over warm layers. Use from -10c (with insulating layers) to 20c (a t-shirt), in sun, high winds, torrential rain & snow.

The fit is forgiving and allows those layers, but is tailored for smartness.

  • Heavy grade pure cotton outer, synthetic inner, made in Como, Italy
  • Rated an extremely impressive 20,000 waterproof & breathable
  • Fully waterproofed taped seams
  • Heavy duty waterproof Aquaguard zips by YKK at front and chest pocket
  • Japanese rubber zip pull by Shimada (not pictured as wasn't available at the time we shot the images) for easy use with gloved hands
  • Jaw protecting zip dock
  • Peaked removable hood with front and rear shock cord adjustment
  • Front of hood closes via Italian bushed horn buttons, over the mouth if desired
  • 7 pockets: Two large lower cargo with flap seals. Two chest with flap seals. Twin hand pockets.
  • Single exterior zipped chest pocket.
  • Twin shoulder vents
  • Extremely fine microfleece lining on inside of neck
  • Pleated shoulders & elbows, for articulated movement
  • Tonal black FRAHM brand label on right upper arm
  • Lifetime fault guarantee
  • Machine washable delicate

£10 from each jacket sold will be donated to Mind mental health charity.

Great jacket

My long running affair with Frahm continues (and shows no sign of ending any time soon!). This is great waterproof. Ive only worn it a few times (the cold weather had me reaching for the Ventile) but it regularly draws admiring glances and the odd compliment from other walkers. It fits really well (although definitely roomier that the regular field to allow for layers) but the quality is typical Frahm - superb fabric, all seams fully taped and properly positioned pockets. Looking forward to more outings with it in the coming months.

Great Jacket

Quality is really good. Dark navy colour is fantastic too. Very much like to fabric. Whole jacket successfully bridges the gap between performance and not looking too ‘outdoorsy.’ Cut/fit of the hood and its fastening/adjustment is the only negative, but this is marginal and not enough of problem to warrant dropping a star. Sleeve length just right.
Thank you for the excellent service.
Company ethics a strong point for me too.

Great look and feel. Exactly what I hoped it would be. Not flashy, nor a style that might look outdated in time. A classic.

Delighted

This really has lived up to my hopes. It looks great and has a flattering fit that allows room for layers. I’ve been out in snow and rain, with biting wind at -4C and kept warm and dry. The fit of the hood is spot on, with no ballooning or restricted movement. The hem and sleeve length are just right. Everything is just where you want it and the excellent manufacturing quality is evident throughout. I can’t fault it.
