Woodland Worker's Jacket 2022: Pre Order

Size Guide
Size & Fit Guide

Our customers rave about our fit, check out the reviews.

FRAHM jackets are cut for real men's bodies and action. We've subtly altered classic tailoring for more movement, for real life. Our jackets do not have a restrictive teenage 'fashion' cut.

HOW TO FIT YOURSELF

Size by your actual body measurements, not copying your size in another brand. Fit can vary wildly between brands and their size may not be ours.

HEIGHT: This is the easy one – measure yourself from the top of your head to your heel. (Sometimes easier to do against a wall we find.)

CHEST: To find out your chest size, take a tape measure and wrap it under your armpits at the fullest part of your chest.

ARM: Measure from the shoulder seam to the bony bit on your wrist (yes, that is the biological term).

measurement guide

Next, compare your measurements with our size chart below to see which Frahm jacket is right for you.

size chart

If you can't measure your chest circumference, the best guide to size is your best fitting existing jacket or suit jacket. Then Live Chat us and we can advise what your size is.

"Tall" sizes are for very tall men, offering exactly the same jacket with significantly longer arms and torso. Don't buy one if you're above average - our standard sizes will fit.

If you have shorter arms, we will happily have your sleeves altered for you when possible (most of the time it is). Please Live Chat or email us to discuss.

Nick's Design Notes

Lumberjacket jackets don't really live up to their name. They're usually made with soft, very tearable fabric that will ruin quickly. I wanted to make a really tough cool weather jacket that you could scrape against a ragged broke branch without any effect, that was smart without being showy.

Based on the hugely popular Lightweight Worker’s Jacket, this is a heavier weight worker’s coat to combat cool and mixed British conditions and gloaming pine forests. You could call it a trucker jacket too.

The outer fabric is a heavier weight washable waxed fabric than our Field Jacket and Harrington jackets - from British Millerain in Rochdale, Lancashire, of course. No need to reproof even after years of machine washes.

The lining is a gorgeous brushed, soft, red and navy blue check cotton. We’ve added Italian stainless steel snap closures to the front cargo pockets and our super tough brushed horn buttons.

There are pockets galore, with two main lower cargo pockets, with hand pockets behind (it drives us nuts not to have anywhere to put hands). Add in one buttoned chest pocket, with a YKK hardened stainless steel zipped chest pocket opposite it. Then inside we have a two inside pockets - one for a paperback book and another for your pen knife and mints.

As with it’s 5 star reviewed sister the Lightweight, we have paid particular attention to the buttons. These are real horn, brushed for a wonderful hand feel. The thread is triple woven through to a smaller holding button to the rear, with the thread then bound around the button at it’s centre to create an extremely tough and long lasting natural fixing. These buttons will not be falling off.

There are button cuffs with two widths to select and a stiff casual collar that can be turned up if desired. As ever we use heavy duty twin needle stitching to add longevity. The embroidered brand label on the right shoulder is pure black.

This is a jacket that will wear its' life as it ages - whether chopping logs in a remote forest or animating talking squirrels in a city studio. Beard not compulsory.

Upgrades for 2022: Snaps now Cobrax B:Lock, considered the best in world, used by special forces. We're adding a limited edition embroidered label to our designs, detailing which edition you own and proving its authenticity.

Weather range, with t-shirt from 6c to 18c, or down to 0c with heavy layer(s) - ideal for cold, windy through to mild days in changeable weather and showers.

Woodland Jacket

I pre ordered my Large Woodland Jacket which arrived earlier in the month, the Jacket looked great, the materials and the quality of the workmanship were excellent, unfortunately when I put it on it just didn’t fit. I had discussed with the Team which size to order and we agreed Large would be the correct size according to my measurements on the Size Chart, but the Jacket was too tight across the Chest, I couldn’t fasten the buttons, crossing my arms was impossible as the back was too tight, you can imagine my disappointment. I contacted the online team and Emmalou and Leonie soothed my disappointment within minutes; the Jacket was returned and a refund provided, Leonie identified that an XL was available in Stock which I ordered, at the same Pre Order price, and was delivered within 5 days. The XL fits as I expected it should, there is room for a Polo shirt, thin Jumper and another layer whilst retaining all of the articulation needed to wear the jacket in the garden and orchard chopping wood, and out and about in town. The minor issue is the sleeves are about an inch too long, not to worry I have folded the sleeves back, as you would with a Denim Jacket, and the ‘red and blue’ cuffs are cool. One minor point would be the zipped external chest pocket could be a tad larger, I have a standard iPhone 12 and its a v cosy fit and impossible to get out without taking the Jacket off, other pockets are available. Would I buy another Jacket, of course I would and it’s on order, I will however amend my order to XL. Thank you Emmalou and Leonie you saved the day. :-)

Faultless design, amazing materials, brilliant fit.

I've now worn the Woodland Worker's Jacket for a week and absolutely love it. The hand feel of the Staywax by Millerain is amazing and I'm guessing tough as old boots (I've no woodland). The fits is spot on. I was a little concerned that I'd chosen the wrong size but once I'd got my head around this is a more tailored fit I felt more at ease. It was my perception that was wrong. Thanks to Emmalou for her help and advice. Another fantastic design and execution by Nick and the team. Can't fault the jacket at all.

Woodland Workers Jacket.

This is the nicest jacket I’ve ever bought! The fit and finish are perfect, the attention to detail is amazing, and there’s a huge ‘feel good’ factor when you put it on! Frahm is right at the top of its game! Very highly recommended!

There’s not much that I buy on line where I would give a review however the jacket I have just purchased from Frahm is a simply the dogs bollocks when it comes to jackets.....

I would love to recommend Frahm more however I am reluctant to tell you how good they are as I want to purchase more of these products for myself. In fact I’m going to order it now !!

Thanks Frahm

So I just bought a house with a woodland

This Frahm woodland worker’s jacket is too good for my needs but life is short and I have just bought a house with its own woodland so what the hell. My wife approves of the smart style.
