An extremely tough yet stylish and versatile jacket for everything from dashing between meetings in rain showers through to dog trekking from a hilltop pub.

We’ve innovated a British military classic, the waxed field jacket. It’s subtly modernised to make it comfortable for active movement, washable, odourless, breathable, with loads of storage, for versatility and minimal fuss.

There is a LOT of detail here, from the carefully thought-through reinforced pockets, right down to the intricate herringbone care label.

Constructed from machine washable waxed fabric, it will gradually develop a worn look, as with all waxed jackets, but without any reduction in performance or the oily inconvenience of old school waxed fabrics.

The fit is ‘tailored athletic’. Not unrealistically tight, not loose, just right. The vented shoulders have extra space built in and the arms are longer, for real-world movement.

Weather range are 2c (room for a thick jumper) to 18c, in high winds or rain showers.

£10 from each jacket sold will be donated to Mind mental health charity.

Utility Field jacket number two tells you all you need to know!

So whatever I wrote in my first review full of enthusiasm for my first Frahm jacket goes for this jacket also, having lived with an original UF I knew exactly what to expect so obviously it’s hard say something new other than the military green is just perfect. I sized up to XL to allow thicker clothing underneath to go through winter and not because I’d put a bit of timber on.

      Unique Quality

Ok so I don't have loads of money and I'm not particularly stylish but I wanted a waxed cotton jacket. I checked out Barbour/belstaff and others and realised the name/badge was what I was paying for and loads of others would have one.. I then found this.. so it's a small company but then that adds to the uniqueness and in no way detracts from the quality. It's really well made looks elegant and not showy.. I'm happy I found the site and Nick was helpful from start to finish. You know you're getting the personal touch from someone who cares..

      Lovely the Utility Field Jacket

I've had my Utility Jacket for just over a month now. I do love the FIsherman's Yellow colour, it feels really smart. The material is very tactile. I've already had a number of positive comments about it from friends and family. Had an issue with the sizing at first. I'm pretty slight (5'9", 38 inch chest, just over 11 stone - or 175cm and just over 70kg) and was advised to go for the Small. It was quite snug, I could just about get a thin fleece under it. My wife thought it looked way too small on me. Via an online chat with Nick, I was able to swap for a Medium very promptly, without issue and I'm much happier with it - and so is my wife. I would still say that you couldn't describe it as 'roomy'. I think the fit is now great, almost looks tailored. As this is not what you get with your average jacket, this is just something to be aware it. I love the cut of the sleeves and cuffs. One criticism: I find the metal fasteners for the pockets and flaps to be very stiff - hopefully they will ease with use. I'm looking forward to many years of happy use.
