British Millerain machine washable waxed cotton fabric is surprisingly lightweight, as it isn't laden with sticky wax like old style waxed jackets
Breathable, shower and rain proof, but not fully waterproof.
High, jawline stiffened collar with a moleskin cotton lining for added comfort.
Cotton cashmere blend lining lining is incredibly soft & odour resistant
Embroidered care info is sewn inside, no flappy care labels
Machine washable, does not need reproofing with wax.
Internal YKK zipped chest pocket and internal book pocket
4 front pockets, secured by indestructible hardened stainless steel snaps from Italy.
Moleskin cotton lined hand pockets behind front cargo pockets
Scalloped, reinforced cuffs with moleskin lining
Twin needle stitching throughout
The fit is ‘tailored athletic’. Not unrealistically tight, not loose, just right. The vented shoulders have extra space built in and the arms are longer, for real-world movement.
Cut for activity, with extra room in shoulders
Articulation pleats in shoulders and elbows
Twin rear shoulder vents
I waited with great anticipation for my Original Utility Field Jacket and so was so disappointed when it arrived - great quality as expected but unusually, based on all other reviews, the arms were too short. Argh! I had to return it. Online chat with the team agreed that I was an 'obvious' medium (which I'd ordered) at 6'2", 39" chest, but the tailored fit left the arm length lacking for me . Roll on a few weeks and I noticed other returns and engaged again with Leonie via the online chat. She very helpfully measured and advised of the arm length differences from medium to large and tall large (2cm and 5cm, I recall) and that there was a tall large in the blue which might be worth me trying. I did, and it's hardly been off my back since! Serendipity I think, as I actually prefer the blue (more French than Navy blue?) to my original red order. The fit is now (of course) roomy around the chest but the arm length is great and layering not a problem. As many others, I am now eying the range and trying to justify another jacket purchase!
Having moved too slowly to secure a 2021 pre order, I was desperate to get my hands on a Frahm jacket. The customer service was excellent and when some cancellations popped up they were really helpful. The jacket itself is just stunning with quality in every detail. I will definitely be investing in another Frahm jacket soon.
Nice fit, true to size. Lovely detailing.
Decided on desert khaki XXXL as opposed to my normal choice of darker colours.
Sweet as a nut!!!
Very happy with sizing, colour and the durable feel of the it
(Not that I am going to run through any brambles)
Have worn it for the last 2 weekends and in conclusion, this will not be my last Frahm jacket
Have eyes on the Ventile jacket!!
Shame I have to wait till October for it
But content to do so
First wear of the utility jacket oxblood red for a chilly morning cycle yesterday. First impression is of joy to wear such a beautifully made piece. I am 182cm/75kg slim type and the Medium is fitted but with enough room to move around. Quite close to the body on the waist, sleeves lenght is spot on. Perfect to go around town on the bike. The oxblood red (going towards burnt orange) is very original, but turns out super versatile. The fabric, the details and the tayloring is as good as described by Nick and most owners. This is going straight to my travel capsule wardrobe, light to carry around, looks as stylish opened or closed can take the rain without fear. Well done guys, I am now saving for a future parka,,,
