Lightweight Worker's Jacket 2020

Size Guide
Size chart

Our customers rave about our fit, check out the reviews.

FRAHM jackets are cut for real men's bodies and action. We've subtly altered classic tailoring for more movement, for real life. Our jackets do not have a restrictive teenage 'fashion' cut.

Size by your actual body measurements, not copying your size in another brand. Fit can vary wildly between brands and their size may not be ours.

If you can't measure your chest circumference, the best guide to size is your best fitting existing jacket or suit jacket. Then Live Chat us and we can advise what your size is. We are experienced fitters.

"Tall" sizes are for very tall men, offering exactly the same jacket with significantly longer arms and torso. Don't buy one if you're above average - our standard sizes will fit.

If you have shorter arms, we will happily have your sleeves altered for you when possible (most of the time it is). Please Live Chat or email us to discuss.

If you have any questions please do Live Chat or email us on hello@frahmjacket.com

These are in the Archive as we had a few of the 2020 colours set aside for press.

Nick's Design Notes: I love French Worker's Jackets, but find them frustratingly lacking in quality & detail. They tend to be bulky and formless. So here's a sharper, lighter, more versatile version, with greater attention to detail.

The go-to option for the artist or workshop dweller, a Chore Coat, French Worker’s Jacket, or Work Shirt is a must have for the warmer months and work indoors.

As ever, we’ve taken a classic style and augmented it. The brushed Italian fabric is a tough ripstop that is somehow also crease resistant, showerproof and cool against the skin.

There are pockets galore, with two main lower cargo pockets, with hand pockets behind (it drives us nuts not to have anywhere to put hands). Add in a buttoned chest pocket, with a zipped chest pocket opposite it.

We have paid particular attention to the buttons. These are real horn, brushed for a wonderful hand feel. The thread is triple woven through to a smaller holding button to the rear, with the thread then bound around the button at it’s centre to create an extremely tough and long lasting natural fixing. These buttons will not be falling off.

The button cuffs have two widths to select, a short casual collar that can be turned up if desired, and there are red seam bindings within. As ever we use heavy duty twin needle stitching to add longevity.

This is a jacket to be worked: spattered with oil paints, grabbed from a pub bench and thrown on as the sun goes down or to smarten up a Summer work outfit.

Weather range, with t-shirt from 10c to 24c - mild to warm days, wind & light showers. Or use as layer under heavier jacket in cold weather.

Technical Notes:

  • Silky smooth brushed cotton (64%) / nylon (36%) fabric from Como, Italy
  • Lightly water & stain resistant
  • Tough for it's weight, breathable & crease resistant
  • Custom Italian brushed horn buttons, attached with triple binding & rear button retainers for greater toughness
  • Twin needle stitched high load areas
  • Secure left chest pocket with concealed YKK zip
  • Right chest pocket secured with brushed horn button
  • Subtly cut for activity, with articulation pleats
  • Double horn buttoned adjustable reinforced cuffs
  • Unique hand pockets behind the two main cargo pockets
  • Hip split at hem for ease of movement
  • Lined inner seams in contrast red fabric
  • Embroidered herringbone care information, no flappy labels
  • Machine washable

£10 from each jacket sold will be donated to Mind mental health charity.

another one..

Another Frahm piece to add to the growing collection. I love work shirts. I work in an environment where its not formal, and its not completely slack. Jeans, boots and a t-shirt are the norm. By throwing over a shacket like this, it transforms the look. adds a lightweight layer of protection. and looks very cool. I can work in the factory, or meet a customer. Its a winner.

The best jacket I have ever owned in my life. Hands down. That’s it.

When you review something from Frahm, it’s important to remember that not only are their products impeccably designed, crafted and presented - but that their brand and service are incredible too. I’ve wanted to buy into the brand for months and after incredible help from Emmalou with sizing (instantaneously I might add) - the jacket was mine. From a handwritten note to the packaging the jacket arrived in; every single thing was considered.

This is over and above what the brand itself stands for. Nick’s honesty about mental health issues is nothing short of inspiring and to think that by buying this jacket I’m donating to a good cause, well that’s just the icing on the cake. There is nothing I do not love about Frahm.

But let’s talk about the product. This jacket is exactly what I’ve had in mind for ages. It’s that French ‘chore’ jacket look, with smart, modern details that have very clearly been meticulously planned. I've tried on loads of similar jackets (when you could still go into shops, that’s how long I’ve been looking - this review written in mid Feb 2021) and this fits perfectly, feels great and most importantly makes me feel special. I wish I was able to go out in public as I know all my mates would be jealous.

This is by no means my last Frahm jacket and I will be spreading the word wherever I can. If you’re thinking about getting this jacket - get it. You will not be disappointed. And follow their sizing advice!

Lovely jacket

Really well made lightweight jacket with great attention to detail. Came earlier than scheduled. Will be my go to summer spring coat. came at a size 1 up from what I usually buy so worth going through the sizing guide on the website.

Quality and functionality with style

This jacket is one of those garments that until you own one don’t realise what you have been missing. Something to slip on for a trip to the shops (in the warmer months) pockets for your phone, shopping list, the face mask. Or a quick excursion around the block with the dogs. It is not out of place worn in the house either. This jacket is beautifully made using a quality fabric that drapes well on my frame. Overall a very handy, functional jacket for indoors or warmer months outside, great storage without having to go more formal with a traditional jacket.

Great jacket/shirt

This is a must buy if you want something that’s smart well made and perfect for keeping the chill off indoors. I need to exchange the tartan work shirt so I emailed Emmalou to see if I could visit to exchange. So a trip to the Glove Factory was arranged. Emmalou & Nick it was great to meet you both.
Keep up the outstanding work and look forward to my next purchase.
