When I booked a cruise to the Arctic Circle to search for the Northern Lights in Norway I was not too worried about not finding the Aurora. I was more terrified about the cold. It was planned for late January - was it bravery or foolhardiness?! Doing some research I found the Frahm range, and was attracted by the Thermal Military Parka. Initially shocked by the price, but decided to get it as an investment. I was also keen to see if it was worth all the hype. Waited a long time for it to arrived but my anticipation was rewarded. Beautifully designed and crafted. Fitted like a dream. A little heavier than I expected but appreciated the high quality materials used. Nice touches like large pockets for gloves, phone, wallet, binoculars were really useful while trundling along the icy roads. I found the zip a bit fiddly to start but got used to it eventually. The verdict? The parka did what it promised. I survived the Arctic winter comfortably. The hood kept my head and neck warm. I didn’t need an additional scarf. I have no hesitation in recommending it. ps. And I did managed to see the Northern Lights.
This jacket is superb one of my favourite Frahm jackets particularly good in the coldest of days.
Finally picked up a military parka having been eying them for a while and certainly have not been disappointed! The materials and design are fantastic and the jacket has been just the ticket for the recent cold spell. The poppers on the sides at the bottom are great for hoping on the bike too.
Also, I’m a real fan of Frahm’s support for mental health and delighted that 10% of the price goes to supporting such a valuable cause. All in all, superb!
