MERINO WOODLAND WORKERS JACKET

Always smart, easy care, upgraded lumber jacket, in pure merino wool

Introducing the Merino Woodland Workers Jacket, the pure wool match to the beloved Waxed Woodland Worker's Jacket we've offered since 2019.

Fun fact: 19th century loggers wore wool.

Why? They don't need care. Temperature regulating, water, crease, odour and stain resistant. Tough.

We've sourced our merino from British fabric legends since 1837, Abraham Moon of Yorkshire. Oh boy, that herringbone structure...

Merino wool, if you're you're not already obsessed by it (and you should be) is the softest of sheep wool, and even more odour resistant.

Which makes ordering a shot of whiskey after a long Winter of chopping trees a bit less socially anxious.

You can apply our 2025 upgrade to ordering negronis, an almond croissant or fighting off zombie raccoons.

The frontiersman would be proud of you.

UPGRADED CLASSIC: 19TH CENTURY MACKINAW LOGGER'S JACKET

200 years ago American loggers HAD to have jackets that could take a beating in all weathers - their life depended on it. They started building hard-wearing jackets from 'Mackinaw' wool fabric.

Google 'lumber jacket' now though. It's not pretty. Lots of soft, Monty Pythonesque checks ready to tear into shreds within 3 miles of a tree.

We've returned to the true lumber jacket's roots, but upgraded the scratchy 19th century wool for soft yet hardy pure merino wool. Even higher odour resistance and heat regulation, with a tight British herringbone finish, rather than the bold checks of old.

Smart, tough, easy. Little to do except wear & enjoy, all day, everyday.

BRITISH PURE MERINO WOOL FABRIC

Legends of British fabric since 1837, Abraham Moon of Yorkshire, provide the beautiful 100% merino wool exterior fabric.
An incredible performance fabric, it is naturally water resistant, with stretch, it is highly odour and stain resistant.

Merino warms you when it's cool and cools you when warm... It's how sheep survive.
And no, unless you're a very sensitive chap, this is not scratchy. Merino is soft and luxurious, yet really tough. Like (washed) sheep.

It's the ultimate low maintenance fabric, barely needs any work at all, except the odd annual dry clean.

ALWAYS SMART, EASY CARE

The advantage of such a tough, naturally structured fabric, is this jacket stays the same shape. It doesn't crease. It doesn't need ironing.

So if you're busy in business (or feeling a bit lazy), the Merino Woodland will look great wherever you are.

THOSE FRAHM DETAILS

As ever, the detail is everywhere, not just for show. The pure cotton micro-dogtooth flannel lining is also applied to the inner cuffs.

There's engraved real horn buttons from Portugal, triple would & backed, so they don't come off.

A pen or sunglasses pocket on the chest, one of eight pockets, including hand pockets of course.

The cargo pockets have stainless steel snap closures. There's even a tough key carabiner on the inside book/cargo pocket.
