Woah, you really love the Pure Wool Quilted Peacoat. Thank you for loving it as much as we do.

Why has it captured your imagination?

The easy answer is: Peacoats are a timeless investment for every man's wardrobe. Smart without being pretentious. Masculine but elegant. Etc (and the etceteras are plentiful).

But there are other peacoats out there. Why FRAHM?

Let's squeeze that juice. How this is a FRAHM & what we did to make it the best (in our biased but deeply rational opinion) there is?

PURE ITALIAN 26OZ WOOL

A peacoat MUST be made from thick wool. Don't accept blends. No sneaky polyester. We chose Italian fabric from Lanificio Luigi Zanieri, because it was the best we found. Simple (once we found it).

We chose 26oz, as 32oz gets really heavy, and any lighter and we're not getting that wonderful protected feeling.

CASHMERE BLEND QUILTING

Afterthought synthetic satin linings are normal for this style. We're not into normal, so we've used a cotton cashmere blend, for extra comfort, odour resistance, temperature regulation & quiet luxury.

Quilting was the clear way we decided to make this jacket more practical, by being lighter yet warmer, combined with another move of the dial towards FRAHM's uniqueness. No Stone Unturned.

ENGRAVED BRITISH HORN BUTTONS

Created especially for us by our longtime collaborators, Courtneys of Gloucestershire, these are big fellas, anchored on with heavyweight stitching.

The size speaks of it's Naval functionality with smartness. Cold or gloved hands can use them easily, and their chunkiness can keep up with the heft of the fabric and such boxy style, with elegance.

CUFF ADJUSTERS

Weirdly lacking on most peacoats. We don't know why. Actually, we might.... On they go!

SEVEN POCKETS

2 proper hand pockets (see below).

1 YKK zipped internal chest smartphone pocket.

1 large button-closure waxed cotton internal pocket.

1 large waxed cotton book pocket with key carabiner (with my house keys on).

2 piped medium sized pockets.

PROPER HAND POCKETS

Where you put your hand in a peacoat, is half the style (see military history photographs for details). Not those weird ones that hurt your wrists. These are angled for human arms, with pure cotton moleskin lined pocket bags. Oh, and they're deep. Mmm, proper.

STITCHED WAXED COTTON UNDER COLLAR

I mean, look at it. Now you can turn that collar up from the wind, and it'll stay there. A subtle glimpse of even greater detail and toughness.

Peak Peacoat.
