Cheering on Bath Rugby Club in the sleet, walking on a wind-blasted beach as we defend our fish & chips from seagulls, coffee meetings on frosty mornings. You know, real life.

UPGRADED CLASSIC: 1922 EVEREST ASCENT JACKET

Innovative Australian climber George Finch (pictured) invented the first quilted shell jacket to ascend Everest with George Mallory. It was made out of balloon fabric & feathers - a huge improvement on the tweeds of that time.

Not long after, a rise in deep winter fishing across North American saw improvements in design & longevity, though the style remaining rooted in practicality over good looks.

Fast forward to the 21st century, and puffer jackets have become even shinier, huge and warm; yet are just as fragile and formless, with smartness & tailoring barely considered.

The cruelly gathered feather fills are used by tradition, meaning the jacket expires as they escape the easily torn exterior tears, or simply clump and degrade.

We created this quilted worker's jacket as a reaction against all these puffer issues. It's smart, higher quality & toughness, and the volume is much reduced by dispensing with troublesome feather for superior Primaloft insulation.

A puffer for a gentleman. Just don't call it a puffer.

TOUGHER, SMARTER ALTERNATIVE TO A PUFFER

A worker's jacket needs to be tough, unless a fragile puffer. We've used lightweight dry-waxed cotton from Halley Stephensons of Dundee for the shower resistant exterior.

We've added a turn-down collar & snap adjusted cuffs to the square, not round shape, to bring smart tailoring not roundness.

STEEL, MOLESKIN & FLANNEL

We've chosen the best, near-indestructible custom YKK stainless steel oversize zips, paired with gunmetal stainless steel snaps on the front zip placket, cuffs & chest pockets.
Interior surfaces that touch your skin are lined with cosy pure cotton moleskin at the cuffs and hand pockets.


The interior is never an after-thought (nothing is). We've lined the jacket with gorgeous brushed pure cotton flannel.

7 PROPER POCKETS

We continue our pocket obsession. Men need pockets.
Two deep moleskin lined hand pockets.
Two snap closure chest pockets.
Inside, there's three large cargo pockets:
One large for a book or tablet.
One above that for a notebook or flask.
On the other side a YKK zip closure internal chest pocket for a large smartphone.
