WAXED HOODED FIELD COAT

All the design details.

This is my weekend fun jacket.

The one I wear to festivals, to carry loads of stuff, for a day of changeable weather.

The one I wear on city days out. Stylish for shoe shopping & tapas with my wife. Practical for, again, the changing weather and to carry stuff (I do love stuff).

For a Cornwall beach as the wind rises & the sun hides. That I can throw onto the sand as a blanket. For eating cake off on little sandy plates. Mmm, gritty.

Don't be shocked. Yes it's an expensive & very special jacket, but FRAHMs are made for actual use in real life, not for hiding in gilded cages.

Use. Live. Work. Shop. Booze. Rain. Shine. Shop. Eat. Enjoy. Hug. Dog. Carry. Do.

OBSESSIVE HOOD DESIGN

Look at that hood. That's not an an average 'good enough' hood. That detail! I/we are extremely proud that hood.

Hooded field jackets of old, such as the US Army M65, had little synthetic hoods stuffed into a zipped collar. Tiny crinkly plastic things that moulded to your head & made you look like a miserable schoolboy on a wet school trip to a boring ruin.

Hoods are not after thoughts. They are features. They should have architecture, structure, detail, beauty. A hood, when up or down, is a thing of wonder, or derision.

Choose the former.A great hood stays where you want it to be. It protects fully. It is adjustable and you can see traffic coming or diving eagles swooping, out from underneath it.

This hood is carefully designed with:

  • Mid weight dry-waxed Halley Stevensons of Dundee pure cotton.
  • Lined with pale blue Oxford cotton shirting.
  • Peripheral vision at the sides for truck/eagle sight lines.
  • Adjusted at the rear with a single shock cord and stainless steel barrel.
  • Closed over the chin, if desired. If you have to hide, hide fully.
  • Cripes, it even has a little dock for the adjuster. That's obsessive.
ENJOY CHOOSING

THAT WAS JUST THE HOOD...

Then there's the pockets. We really love pockets.

  • 9 proper, tough, cargo carrying pockets:
  • 2 huge lower 'field' cargo pockets with ultra secure 'envelope' construction, tough enough to carry champagne bottles.
  • 2 hand pockets behind them, with a natural resting wrist position.
  • 2 chest 'field' pockets, closed with Cobrax B:Lock snaps, as everywhere.
  • YKK zipped internal chest pocket for any smartphone.
  • Large 'drop' pocket below that.
  • Large waxed book pocket opposite that, with key carabiner.

There are a lot more details, but I'm a jacket designer, not Ernest Hemingway.

ARRIVING IN A FEW WEEKS

Military Green with Tan is sold out last Summer, so we won't annoy and show it.

Limited sizes remain in Dark Blue and Spearmint Green.

I own the green. It's beautiful and weirdly goes with everything (except most greens - clash).

Choose blue to go with literally everything. Navy is good that way.

2027 pre-orders launch very soon. Navy will return, but not the greens.

BUY 2026, NOT 2027
