Ahh, the nineteenth century, when clothes were made for doing actual really tough stuff in, for years.

Exported from Germany to the USA in the early 18th century, denim became the only choice for cowboys, gold prospectors & railroad men. Extremely tough, it wore in to each individual wearer, providing comfort & protection handling horses, steers & metal.

Denim has always said casual, with purpose, for guitarists, gang members & still, cowboys. It works. Hard. For years, if not decades (dependent on how hard your throwing yourself off horses, or them throwing you).

Good old fashioned cotton denim is tough. It's also really absorbent & takes months to become comfortable.

Killing two birds with one stone, Halley Stevensons have created this unique dry-waxed denim that is softer, even tougher, and showers will bead off it.

I'm not really into the months of wearing denim in before it gets comfortable. I really dislike scratchiness. I want to put it on and go. I'm busy enough.

I'd also like to be able to put a pint to my lips without getting stuck half-way, because the fabric has no give.

The exterior fabric cuts most of that movement/comfort guff out.

Then we used a beautifully textured dark navy blue pure cotton twill to line the jacket, making it really soft & comfy, but just as tough. 

That also means we can add more pockets...Which we did.

Proper big moleskin lined hand pockets. 

A chest pocket that can actually be used - the traditional ones are so tiny they can barely fit a shrew in without bursting it.

A sunglasses and a pen pocket, for all your fine denim-jacket trimmings as you live out your movie fantasies.

A book pocket.

A stainless steel YKK smartphone internal chest pocket.

Oh, and stainless steel (we'd never let anything rust on a FRAHM, shudder) shank buttons throughout, including the rear hip adjusters.
