UPGRADED CLASSIC: 1880 DENIM RAILROAD WORKERS JACKET

Exported from Germany to the USA in the early 18th century, denim became the only choice for cowboys, gold prospectors & railroad men. Extremely tough, it wore in to each individual wearer, providing comfort & protection handling horses, steers & metal.

Denim has always said casual, with purpose, for guitarists, gang members & still, cowboys. It works. Hard. For years, if not decades (dependent on how hard your throwing yourself off horses, or them throwing you).

Cue FRAHM. How can we improve on the many thousands of examples out there? Denim protects, but it's highly absorbent in the rain.So we used Scottish waxed denim. Denim is also not easy to move in, so we've added articulation & shoulder bellows, for vehicular pursuits or picking up your kids. Everything is tougher and more comfortable. All upgraded, but all within the classic design principles of denim jackets through the decades. Keep this for the rest of your life. Pass it on.

WEATHER RESISTANT WAXED DENIM

The exterior is 10.5oz/300g dry-waxed cotton by Halley Stevensons of Dundee. This offers shower (and spilt beer) resistance, rather than absorbing it immediately.

SEVEN PROPER POCKETS

Denim jackets tend to have two small, fiddly chest pockets and you may get two small hand pockets, for the ends of your fingers. This FRAHM has seven ways to carry your tools for cross country driving or city life. Proper big secure hand pockets lined with moleskin. Chest pockets you can use without contortion, including one for your sunglasses because, well, it is a denim jacket. Three tough internal pockets for a smartphone (YKK zipped), book and a pen complete a very cargo orientated trucker.

TOUGH COMFORT

As ever with FRAHM, 11 sizes are standard. That's flattering comfort for (almost) all men, from the off. The waxed denim moves beautifully and is lined with a hardy pure cotton twill in navy blue, that is designed to last with the exterior, with comfort. The custom stainless steel shank buttons aren't coming off. We've never seen a single breakage. Everything is longevity focussed. You shouldn't ever need to be delicate with denim.
