UPGRADED CLASSIC: VIETNAM WAR US ARMY M-65 FIELD JACKET

The M65 was US Army standard issue during the Vietnam War, providing breathable protection in the rain and humidity, cargo storage and an element of regimental smartness.

However, the cotton used quickly sagged and became too casual. One of many reasons the M65 was adopted in 1970s counter-culture, typified by Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver.

We decided to bring the structure back, make the trims far tougher, the pockets bigger, and the overall effect one that can be worn at work, a country stile or a humid bar in Saigon.

SCOTTISH WAXED COTTON

Halley Stevensons of Dundee provide very breathable lightweight dry-waxed cotton, that can be machine washed.

This provides a lighter solution to the M65 fabric, yet greater toughness, with consistent structure over time.

CARGO POCKETS FIT FOR PURPOSE

Massive bellows-construction field pockets have hand pockets behind the lower cargo area. The pocket flaps are fixed with Cobrax stainless steel snaps. The seventh chambray cotton pocket is internal.

FINE DETAILING

To match and balance the military style and square lines, we use a highest gauge YKK stainless steel zip. There's steel shock cord adjusters inside the waist and pure cotton chambray lining inside.

We tailor for men from 5'4" to 6'10" tall.

With chest sizes from 36" to 56".

That means eleven sizes & free sleeve alterations, unique in jacket brands.

Importantly, we take time to tailor exceptional fabrics that drape flatteringly, not suck around the bits you didn't want to accentuate.

We make you look manly, in a "I want to feel good, but not look like I'm trying too hard" way.

WHEN SHOULD I ORDER?

The short answer is always as soon as you can.

We're booking production space and getting fabric made twelve months before they've even been made.

Options gradually run out as we tick down from 12 months ahead to the arrival date.

If you see gaps in the options of colour/size, etc, that's an alarm bell.

Lovely jacket - with a flavour of the Safari jacket without the mannerisms

I love this jacket; I have two. You might consider sizing up if you want a looser fit for summer.
One thing I would change is the zip: I’d make it double-ended so that you can unzip it from the bottom for ease of movement or ventilation while still keeping it closed - for cycling or just sitting down outdoors.

Wicked Wicked Jungle is Massive

Now I get it! When this one was launched in '24, I debated and decided against the Jungle Utility Field, and ordered the Deck Twill instead. I love the deck and had no regrets but this bad boy came up on that all too rare archive sale - after all I could send it back if I was unsure. It's not going back. I went for Ochre Brown and I love it. The Halley Stevensons waxed cotton is light and much softer than my other predominantly Millerain waxed cottons, the chambray lining and trim is just so. As always with a Frahm, the construction is brilliant, and although I normally don't use it on my other Frahms, the waist adjustment allows for more flattering fit. The little voice in my head that says 'you don't need another Frahm' begone. Jacket for every possible occasion from footy to pub to office - Nick's got you covered (literally).

Got told that I was stylish

The jacket has fully delivered on the practical front. It is well made, water resistant and has suitable pockets for travel. The surprise was when one of the other guests on my trip took me aside to tell me that she liked my style and got her husband to photograph the jacket label. Never happened to me before.
