UPDATED CLASSIC: 1940s BRITISH WAXED BELTED JACKET

Inspired by WWII paratrooper's field jackets, this post-war waxed belted style was then to be a long, tough, multi-pocketed coat to protect motorbike trials riders from branches, falls and the weather.

We've used it as inspiration to create a tough, classic travel jacket.

Today’s waxed belted jackets have dropped in quality. The design has barely moved on, using sticky old-style waxed cotton, which is heavy, unpleasant and needs re-proofing.

We've developed it into a more comfortable, higher specification jacket, subtly using modern developments for a versatile travel jacket across a range of environments.

BUILT TOUGHER

From the British Millerain dry-waxed cotton you can drag through brambles (then machine wash), to the world's best AustriAlpin Cobra belt buckle, this is a jacket built for a lifetime of work.

MORE BEAUTIFUL DETAILING

We've dispensed with the usual soft, shiny brass snaps, utilising gunmetal Cobrax B:lock snaps, used by special forces worldwide.

There are subtle design tweaks everywhere, from the cotton cashmere lining to the scalloped cuffs for greater coverage over the knuckles.

Hell, we've even put burst-snaps at the hem, so if you sit down too fast, the long jacket will open, not leave you stuck.

BUSINESS TRAVEL POCKETS

When Nick flies, he wears this. The huge cargo pockets can accept water bottles (plural), noise cancelling headphones, passport, snacks, book, and more.

He can walk straight into a meeting, with all that stuff, and still look smart, yet still get coffee in a dodgy part of town, and fit in.

Add in some trans-Himalayan trekking, and it's quite the jacket.

With chest sizes from 36" to 56".

That means eleven sizes & free sleeve alterations, unique in jacket brands.

Importantly, we take time to tailor exceptional fabrics that drape flatteringly, not suck around the bits you didn't want to accentuate.

We make you look manly, in a "I want to feel good, but not look like I'm trying too hard" way.

If you're not sure of your size, we can check your exact size easily. Everyone here has been helping men with sizing for years.

WHEN SHOULD I ORDER?

The short answer is always as soon as you can.

We're booking production space and getting fabric made twelve months before they've even been made.

Options gradually run out as we tick down from 12 months ahead to the arrival date.

If you see gaps in the options of colour/size, etc, that's an alarm bell.

WHY DO I KEEP SEEING 20% OFF?
