This is my 4th FRAHM, this Peacoat and the overcoat are my star purchases of 2025. Superb quality items.
I researched a lot of shell jackets but it in the end an email saying there was availability for this jacket with the ideal colour and my size and the option to trade in a virtually unused Frahm, made this the obvious choice. I’m so pleased it’s excellent in every way. The soft and flexible material is fantastic and helps it pack down into the hood as well as comfortable to wear. It’s been fantastic in the recent wet weather and all the details you would expect from Frahm are exceptional. This is the best jacket, from you I have, so far!! 6*.
I ordered this coat on a hope and a prayer. After wearing it for a few weeks I can attest it is a coat of finest quality, fit and feels great, and most of all its stylish and warm.
The quality of this coat is superb: fantastic materials, great details, and functionality that’s hard to beat.
A few fit notes that might help others: I’m a slim-to-average build (40" chest, 36" waist, 6'3" tall) and usually have no trouble with off-the-peg clothing, but this one didn’t quite match my shape.
I tried both Medium and Large. The Medium was a bit snug (but acceptable) in the shoulders, yet far too tight in the arms, only a T-shirt would fit underneath. The Large fit comfortably in the shoulders, but the arms were still snug, meaning you have to hold onto long sleeves when putting it on to prevent them rolling up. Not a deal breaker, just a little annoying. The bigger fit issue (for me) is how generously the coat is cut around the chest, and especially the waist relative to the arms and shoulders. From the side, it can make you look like you have a bit of a belly. Tightening the waist adjuster helps, but it leaves long dangling elastic and creates a pronounced hourglass shape, which isn’t my preference, I find straighter lines more flattering. Photos attached for reference.
Another consequence of the wide hem is that it lets cold air flow up into the jacket, compromising warmth somewhat, which is a shame. Perhaps adding an adjustable hem could help block drafts on colder days?
All that said, the jacket is so well made that I’ve kept it anyway. I’m planning to see a tailor to refine the fit and remove some material to prevent uncomfortable bunching when sitting. Once that’s done, I’m hoping it will be the perfect winter coat for me.
Finally, a big thank you to Clive in customer service for the excellent help. I’m now looking for another Frahm that might be a better fit off the peg.
I was a twat and missed the discount, so ended up paying full price. So I was full of trepidation opening the package and seeing my Frahm for the first time. The quality is tangible. It felt special pulling on the jacket, and satisfying zipping it up. The sleeves were oddly the right length! Its so refreshing having a jacket fit and my hands remaining in view when my arms hang by my sides. When everything you’ve ever bought has sleeves built for neanderthals it takes a little getting used to. I love it. 10/10.
A few weeks into owning my second Frahm jacket and the waxed quilted field jacket still has me finding excuses to go outside. I'm still finding tiny design features which show the thought that's gone into its build, and it's so comfy and warm. The only downside is the amount of people who ask me where I got it from so they can get one!
