UPGRADED CLASSIC: WWII BRITISH PARATROOPER'S JACKET

British field jackets are smarter than US versions, with crisp lines and big pockets. WWII Paratroops used a particularly fine example that we’ve based ours on, as did Canadian airborne forces.

A field jacket is, for us, the epitome of ‘one jacket to rule them all’. Highly practical, always smart, yet casual enough not to be showy, it can move in all circles.

That’s why our first ever design, the Original Utility Field, made from 2018-2024, was such an important and beloved design.

This is our upgrade of the upgrade, with tougher fabric, bigger patch pockets and new design details like adjustable waist cords and cuffs.

This design is insulated for colder weather than it's lined brother, the Waxed Classic Field Jacket.

SCOTTISH DRY WAXED COTTON

Dundee legends Halley Stevensons, provide the tough, machine washable dry-waxed cotton that is a modernised classic.

Shower resistant and extremely breathable, it weathers beautifully over time.

Then there's the pure cotton brushed flannel lining in our signature red/blue tartan. This is the sandwich to hold a Primaloft Silver insulation filling, meaning it can be worn in Winter too.

EVERY DETAIL, BEAUTIFULLY UPGRADED

Everything is made as fine as it can be. The stainless steel shock-cord adjusters, the molded gunmetal snaps, the pure cotton moleskin that lines the collar, cuffs and hand pockets.

That doesn't even start to cover it. Tiny details others leave off to save money, like twin needle stitching, hem darts...

HUGE STORAGE CAPABILITIES

9 pockets mean you can carry water bottles, food, documents, a family of four (hamsters), or whatever floats your boat.

These pockets are tough. You really can put a bottle of champagne in each main cargo pocket, if that's your thing, and not worry about them failing. We know because we've done it.

We tailor for men from 5'4" to 6'10" tall.

With chest sizes from 36" to 56".

That means eleven sizes & free sleeve alterations, unique in jacket brands.

Importantly, we take time to tailor exceptional fabrics that drape flatteringly, not suck around the bits you didn't want to accentuate.

We make you look manly, in a "I want to feel good, but not look like I'm trying too hard" way.

If you're not sure of your size, we can check your exact size easily. Everyone here has been helping men with sizing for years.

WHEN SHOULD I ORDER?

The short answer is always as soon as you can.

We're booking production space and getting fabric made twelve months before they've even been made.

Options gradually run out as we tick down from 12 months ahead to the arrival date.

If you see gaps in the options of colour/size, etc, that's an alarm bell.

WHY DO I KEEP SEEING 20% OFF?

That 20% discount doesn't mean we're in a Sale. We don't do them. We don't overbuy.

I love my new classic field jacket

Wow - I now have three Frahm jackets and they just get better and better (if that is possible). I love my new classic field jacket and can’t wait for the cold weather to kick in !!

Worth the wait

After a previous false start with a hasty and wrong sized order on an end of line clearance, I was able to see and feel the quality of the product and experience the impressive and fuss free after sales service at FRAHM.
But, frustratingly, I had to return the jacket.

I finally took the plunge and ordered the WQFJ.
I’m delighted with it and the quality oozes out of every aspect (as expected) and the fit is good (the previous size error was all mine!).
The insulation is surprisingly warm so the temperature has to drop a few degrees for me to get the full effect but I’m delighted with it. Thanks Nick.

Great quality jacket

Very Happy

Great jacket, lovely colour and perfect fit. The online size guide recommended an XL, even though I described myself as "round"! I'm 6'1, 46" chest and broad shoulders - after emailing for some advice I decided to go for a 3XL and it's perfect. Lesson - when in doubt about the size, email for some advice. Thanks Leonie.
