UPDATED CLASSIC: WWII B3 USAAF BOMBER CREW JACKET

Military jackets start with survival in mind. In this case, on incredibly dangerous high altitude bombing runs across occupied Europe in the Second World War.

Sheepskin was, and remains, the warmest, most comfortable option, retaining movement, longevity and breathability at sea level and 25,000ft in temperatures that could kill.

These qualities remain unsurpassed. However, as the cost is so prohibitive, few men get to experience just how incredibly enveloping & comfortable a sheepskin jacket is. The experience is almost visceral in it's balance of masculinity and cosiness.

We've no fundamentals, instead adjusting an incredible classic with even greater Made in Britain quality, and making it more wearable and less statement, but removing the fur trim at cuffs and hem, adding pockets for wider day to day use.

SOMERSET SHEEPSKIN

Made literally down the road from FRAHM, this is the best of the best shearling suede facia, AKA sheepskin, made by a small family business since 1948.
We have chosen not to bleach the wonderfully thick wool facing, instead leaving its more subtle natural colour, true to it's military origins.
Shearling is extremely comfortable, wind proof and temperature regulating, from cool to life-threateningly cold conditions.
It has high stretch, moulding around the body, with unparalleled longevity, without any need for cleaning.

PRIMAL COMFORT

We have noted the universal effect this jacket has on it's wearers. The response is visceral. Grown men have to take a moment. This isn't hyperbole.
Nothing we've ever made (and we are very proud of them all) can come close to the enveloping soft comfort that perhaps reminds us of animal skin protection going back eons to our hunter gatherer origins.
The feeling of turning up that collar against the wind, hunkering into it, is incredible.

MAXIMUM QUALITY

As ever, we retain the classic, but dispense with the 'good enough'. Military jackets were always made to a tight governmental budget, whereas we can max out every detail.
Details like stitching strength, cut, fit, pocket shape, adding pockets, zip quality and many other tiny incremental improvements.
And of course a pocket for flight notes, or the latest Scandinavian murder mystery.

We tailor for men from 5'4" to 6'10" tall.

With chest sizes from 36" to 56".

That means eleven sizes & free sleeve alterations, unique in jacket brands.

Importantly, we take time to tailor exceptional fabrics that drape flatteringly, not suck around the bits you didn't want to accentuate.

We make you look manly, in a "I want to feel good, but not look like I'm trying too hard" way.

The short answer is always as soon as you can.

We're booking production space and getting fabric made twelve months before they've even been made.

Options gradually run out as we tick down from 12 months ahead to the arrival date.

If you see gaps in the options of colour/size, etc, that's an alarm bell.
