STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY

Old school Harringtons are soft. Soft is awesome. Baggy isn't. Nor is fragile.

The first upgrade had to be the fabric. I wanted my Harrington to be crisp, smart and stay that way. No fragile, baggy synthetic blends.

I chose British Millerain mid-weight washable dry waxed cotton, for easy-going toughness, whilst maintaining high breathability.

The dry wax is super easy-care, though you can machine wash it, and adds shower protection.

The structure enabled me to upgrade the trims to much more substantial stainless steel, and a funnel collar.

Racing Lines

I wanted to create a more masculine, angular silhouette than the original.

Though the Harrington comes from golfing, to me it's a motorsport jacket. Clean, simple and aerodynamic. A Racer.

The fabric made that first leap forwards, meaning I could strip back what I felt were the 'flappy bits' and add tougher trims.

First up, we cut a jawline funnel-neck colour, zipped all the way up, removing the button tab front closure that tended to be left unused, curling with time.

Next, I binned the button closure hand pocket flaps (which again tend to curl unpleasantly), and used zips instead.

We removed the elasticated rib on the hem, as I find this restrictive and 'rounds' the profile, especially if you're carrying a bit of timber, as I usually do.

The large curved shoulder vents mid-way down the original were swapped to a single angular 'jet' vent in the centre. This has cleaner lines and runs ergonomically across the shoulders to accentuate the shoulders, not tummies.

To further lift the eye upwards, we added shoulder armour, balanced with clean, simple 'scallop' cuffs that shape over the knuckles.

The jacket is pleated and articulated at the shoulders and elbows, so you actually can ride a motorbike in it, without getting 'stuck'.

Steel & Moleskin

Motorsport our toughness ethos lent itself to metal. Custom laser cut stainless steel zips, in fact.

With that, the hip adjusters are Cobrax stainless steel too. I hate it when the back of a jacket is nondescript, or a flimsy afterthought.

All this toughness needs comfort to balance it. Anything against the skin shouldn't rub or chafe, but should be an 'oooo' moment instead. Customers confirm their 'ooo' in reviews.

As standard with FRAHM, the hand pockets are pure cotton moleskin, chosen for it's softness and longevity. We added that to the inside of the cuffs and the collar. Oooo, lovely.

110 Choices

Given it's (admittedly cult) popularity, we've been able to continually expand options since the black or navy in 5 sizes I offered in 2018.

For 2026, we now offer 5 colours, with black and beige returning, after your requests.

As ever, we offer 11 sizes with a flattering tailored fit, for real bodies with imperfect bits (I'm imperfect anyway, not you, obviously), not catwalk models.

The icing on the waxed cotton cake is a choice of lined or unlined.

Choose unlined, to use the Harrington Racer more in the summer months, or as an exterior shell. All the seams are trimmed on the inside, for clean comfortable lines inside as well as out.

Go for our trademark red & blue FRAHM Tartan lining (the most popular choice) if you want more use into Spring & Autumn, or chilly Friday nights in town. The lined version also offers two extra internal pockets.

Enjoy choosing.
