The Sweary Troll I Didn't Ignore
Thousands of you have replied positively to this post on our social media channels. I think we're all a bit sick of trolls.
If you’re proud of what you do, answer back. Maybe with sarcasm, if it helps:
If I had a small shop, Bob wouldn’t walk in and tell me to “fuck off”. He’d walk on.
We harm nobody by offering better products at a higher price.
I deal with trolls a lot. We’re an internet business.
I thought carefully about posting this. Unhappy people do unhappy things. I’m very aware of that as a founder so interested in mental health. I often do “killing with kindness” instead. I also get sick of that.
We all need to take personal responsibility for not being dicks to each other. Own the bad things you do. Excuses go so far. That's also why I haven't hidden his name. Own it chap, you said it.
It’s not my job to constantly police rude angry people. I’m also too damned proud of what we do and what we’ve achieved, by being kind and positive (some irony there). I’m not perfect. I’m also capable of being a sarcastic git.
He did reply. It was rude, so I blocked him. If you're rude, you're out. Unless i'm so hacked off I actually reply.
Back to do doing positive stuff! And dealing with the odd dozen troll comments a day. Mostly about price, which is hardly the worst thing in the world. Especially not when you know you've got an answer:
They're more, because they're better.
Take care,
Nick.
