Wingback x Frahm Event

An Evening of Conversation, Craft & Connection

On Thursday 18th September, our good friends at Wingback kindly hosted an evening with FRAHM in their brilliant (and proper) design studio at the OXO Tower, London.

For those who haven’t been, picture a proper workshop full of metal drawers, stacked plastic boxes, pegboards of little engineering goodies, machinery equipment, beautiful wooden work benches and even a 3D printer. A proper design workshop.

The event was an opportunity to showcase our recent Wingback x FRAHM collaboration, featuring the limited edition Wingback x FRAHM Harrington Workshop Jacket, alongside a range of Wingback’s superbly made hard and soft goods.

But more than that, it was a chance for both brands to do something we rarely get to do: spend time face-to-face with the people we make our products for. Customers could get hands-on with the products, ask questions, and chat directly with the founders and teams behind them. As direct-to-consumer brands, neither FRAHM nor Wingback has a physical shop. We’re usually tucked away behind screens and workbenches. So moments like this - in real spaces, with real people - are rare, and all the more valuable for it.

This was also Wingback’s first live event since they launched back in 2014, which made it all the more special. Whilst the events purpose was to showcase the collaboration, to share what we made, and why we made it, what really stood out was something far less expected: the conversations. Honest, open, and genuinely heartfelt.

Wingback customers diving into deep chats about beautiful engineering and design. FRAHM customers speaking freely - and often vulnerably - about their lives, and why the things they wear matter to them.

Not dissimilar to the collaboration of the two brands joining in shared ethos, the event felt like it became a vehicle for a group of interesting, passionate and charismatic individuals to get to know other like minded people.
The best part? People seemed to really enjoy themselves. They got to handle the gear we make. Ask questions. Prod, poke and chat to the teams behind the products. No middlemen, no marketing fluff - just human beings talking to human beings about the things they love.

A massive thanks to Wingback for hosting us in their brilliant space, to everyone who came, and to all those who shared their stories. You made the evening what it was.
