More jackets means more choice, so we’ve decided to be super nice people and create this guide to help you decide which FRAHM jacket is right for you.
All of them. That was an easy blog. Ah haa haaaa, ha. Ha. Oh dear. Sorry.
All jokes aside, we want to make sure you love your jacket as much as we loved creating it, and that involves getting something that suits your needs.
There are so many styles now, we've decided to show you our 5 most popular styles, all offering something different.
We want to make the best jackets possible. Jackets that are not just practical, but also look great. We base every jacket on a classic design, making sure they are timeless, with performance and versatility in mind. We then tweak and edit, choosing the best fabrics, adding in high-performance details and top quality fastenings. On to the detail:
The best all-rounder in mild, changeable British weather
Our first ever FRAHM design; The Original Utility Field Jacket is a tough military style that's subtle yet smart and extremely versatile. Great for unpredictable British weather. Based on a British military classic, the field jacket, which has been innovated and improved. Nick recommends this jacket for dog walking, Sunday pub lunch or dashing around town, as it’s our best all rounder.
Key features include:
- Can be worn most of the year in Britain’s changeable, fairly mild weather
- Is rain resistant but not for heavy rain
- Lightweight with lots of pockets for storage
- British Millerain machine-washable waxed fabric
Warm weather or office throw on
Our Lightweight Worker’s Jacket is inspired by the classic French chore coat, a comfortable and good looking jacket for warmer temperatures. This is our best-selling jacket for Spring/Summer, or for wearing indoors in Autumn/Winter. As ever, we’ve taken a classic style and improved it with a more lightweight, soft brushed Italian fabric than a heavy, clunky French Worker's Jacket usually has. Nick recommends this jacket for evenings outside the pub, or alfresco dining.
Key features include:
- Can be worn on mild to warm days
- Can be layered under a heavier jacket in colder weather
- Crease-resistant
- Lots of pockets for practicality.
- Real horn buttons and twin needle stitching for toughness
Cool weather, smart, very tough
The Woodland Worker’s Jacket is a tougher cool weather jacket, created as an alternative to the classic Lumberjack Jacket, that's actually not at all suited to handling wood. It's designed for wading through forests and brambles whilst maintaining it’s comfort, structure and style, which makes it as suitable for work as the forest.
Key features are:
- Heavyweight washable waxed fabric, from British Millerain
- September - May with room for layers in Winter
- Ideal for cool, windy/mild days in changeable weather and showers
- Lots of pockets inside and out
Smart Winter jacket that's waterproof, suiting grim British weather
Our Ventile Thermal Field Jacket is made with an extraordinary fabric, Ventile (check out our blog post on this amazing fabric here). It's great for unpredictable British Winters. Nick designed this jacket to be warm, waterproof, smart, luxurious and adaptable.
Key features are:
- Smart, thermal jacket with lots of storage
- Waterproof, windproof insulated
- Wool lined, with extraordinarily fine detail
- Range of use: October - April in all but extreme cold
Very tough, tank-like protection in freezing weather
Our Thermal Military Parka is built like a tank. A world-beater which oozes longevity and quality, beating the big brands on performance and attention to detail. Nick designed our Parka out of frustration with other brand's poor quality shiny synthetics, that easily ripped. It's a beast of a jacket, fully enclosing the wearer, with distinctive stainless steel fireman's clasps for ease of use with gloved hands. It offers the best possible detailing.
Key features are:
- Sub-zero protection in high winds, snow and showers
- Range of use: October - March, particularly deep Winter
- Bramble proof
- Detailed, insulated, highly adjustable hood
There we have it, our five most popular designs.
