UPGRADED CLASSIC: US ARMY M65 FIELD JACKET

The M65 was US Army standard issue during the Vietnam War, providing breathable protection in the rain and humidity, cargo storage and an element of regimental smartness.

However, the cotton used quickly sagged and became too casual. One of many reasons the M65 was adopted in 1970s counter-culture, typified by Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver.

We decided to bring the structure back, make the trims far tougher, the pockets bigger, and the overall effect one that can be worn at work, a country stile or a humid bar in Saigon.

STRUCTURED WAXED COTTON

Halley Stevensons of Dundee provide very breathable lightweight dry-waxed cotton, that can be machine washed.

This provides a lighter solution to the M65 fabric, yet greater toughness, with consistent structure over time.

CARGO POCKETS FIT FOR PURPOSE

Massive bellows-construction field pockets have hand pockets behind the lower cargo area. The pocket flaps are fixed with Cobrax stainless steel snaps. The seventh chambray cotton pocket is internal.

FINE DETAILING

To match and balance the military style and square lines, we use a highest gauge YKK stainless steel zip. There's steel shock cord adjusters inside the waist and pure cotton chambray lining inside.

With chest sizes from 36" to 56".

That means eleven sizes & free sleeve alterations, unique in jacket brands.

We only make men's jackets. Each classic style is released once a year, at the same time every year.

A year later all the jackets ordered arrive, and we get them out to you with unique certificates of authenticity for that year's edition.

WHEN SHOULD I ORDER?

The short answer is always as soon as you can.

Options run out as we get closer to the arrival date.

We're booking production space and getting fabric made twelve months before they've even been made.

If you see gaps in the options of colour/size, etc, that's an alarm bell.
