Size & Fit Guide

FRAHM jackets are cut for real men's bodies and action. We've subtly altered classic tailoring for more movement, for real life. Our jackets do not have a restrictive teenage 'fashion' cut.

Size Chart:

HOW TO FIT YOURSELF

Size by your actual body measurements, not copying your size in another brand. Fit can vary wildly between brands and their size may not be ours.

HEIGHT: This is the easy one – measure yourself from the top of your head to your heel. (Sometimes easier to do against a wall we find.)

CHEST: To find out your chest size, take a tape measure and wrap it under your armpits at the fullest part of your chest.

ARM: Measure from the shoulder seam to the bony bit on your wrist (yes, that is the biological term).

If you can't measure your chest circumference, the best guide to size is your best fitting existing jacket or suit jacket. Then Live Chat us and we can advise what your size is.

"Tall" sizes are for very tall men, offering exactly the same jacket with significantly longer arms and torso. Don't buy one if you're above average - our standard sizes will fit.

If you have shorter arms, we will happily have your sleeves shortened from a minimum of 3cm for you when possible (most of the time it is). Typically alterations take 3 - 4 weeks.

If you have any questions please do Live Chat or email us on hello@frahmjacket.com

Colour:

A trench coat is a defining city gent classic, but is fundamentally flawed - the most famous (and expensive) luxury versions are made with gabardine cotton, which looks smashing, but doesn't work when you really need it - rain! So, we did the obvious, adapting a classic to be actually (very) waterproof, with technical fabric leaders eVent.

Wear in all weathers, from 0c to 24c, in dry weather, gales and torrential rain via elegant matte eVent 20,000mm rated waterproof fabric. Built lightweight, with room to fit over a complete outfit or suit, it is also lightweight and extremely breathable, meaning it can be worn as part of a smart outfit in warm sunny weather.

BUILT TOUGH

Constructed from tough, matte eVent, rated 20,000mm waterproofing, 22,000g/m2 breathability

This jacket is unlined to keep it lightweight and breathable

BEAUTIFUL DETAILS

Mid-thigh length, for trouser coverage and classic elegant urban lines

Sustainability: The most important way we can help is always making a garment that is built to last, not binned after a season. We also of course have no excess stock, as we sell on pre-order

Made in China from Japanese & South Korean suppliers

This jacket can't have the cuffs adjusted by us, as this would affect the performance of the jacket

Tested in hail and snow

I wanted to put the Trench Coat through a few tests before reviewing it, rather than rushing to do it straight after I’d unwrapped it. It is a great fit; I love the style; the deep pockets safely fit my dog walking kit (tennis ball, poo bags, treats, wallet, anti Covid mask and keys). Having read some reviews which said sometimes buttons needed sewing on, I did reinforce the stitching to make sure they were secure. Working from home, it’s not been tested on commutes or other journeys. Instead it’s been tested hard on dog walks in the rain, hail and snow we’ve had recently - in May! It has passed the tests easily. It really is waterproof. And not in the same way as my old parka is - which is so thick that rain doesn’t soak through all the many layers unless you are very unlucky. That old parka needs replacing with a Frahm one soon...

Damn - it's good!

Spotted this Trench winking at me from the Archive and had been looking for a Mac/Trench that would actually repel rain for a while after finding my previous one was pretty much useless. This was the first Frahm product through the door for me and I was a bit nervous about buying small (always bought medium), but it fits a suit or over shirt/sweater underneath and does exactly what I wanted (keep me dry and looking smart at the same time). I also really like the additional styling detail to stand it apart from A N Other trench and I'm looking forward to wearing it more often when the world returns to whatever the normal will be - pub or office - my dog doesn't like the rain anyway. More kit like this and I'll be a regular!!!
