We've worked with eVent (kings of breathability in the waterproofing wars) to build a jacket with all the supreme technical facets of those 'explorer brands' you and I are thinking of, but with massive cargo capabilities, greater comfort and the ability to be worn in public with pride.
eVent fabric is rated exceptional 20,000 hydrostatic head waterproofing & 25,000 breathability. Soft, matte finish, light but tough

No cheap flappy labels inside. All care information is embroidered onto a herringbone care label in plain English
Machine wash sensitive cycle, or hand wash when dirty, to maintain waterproofness. Use sensitive liquid, no bio, no conditioner. If you use conditioner by mistake, rinse thoroughly
Do not dry on a radiator or heat source
Does not crease, cannot be ironed
We can't offer sleeve adjustment on this jacket, as this would negate the waterproofing at cuffs
