UPGRADED CLASSIC: US ARMY M-51 PARKA

Developed for the US Army in the Korean War. Long, hooded and insulated, it was created to keep troops warm in cold, wet conditions, with ample storage.

In the 1960s British mods recognised it's casual and practical street smarts identity, and started raiding army surplus stores for the M-51 Parka, to create a style icon.

As with many mid-twentieth century jacket builds, the actual quality, design & detailing hasn't moved on in decades, making it ripe for upgrade.

We set out to create a more elegant yet tough, structured, less slouchy parka, with greater storage and sleek features.

SLEEK DRY-WAXED EXTERIOR

Halley Stevensons of Dundee provide the beautifully sheer mid-weight pure dry-waxed cotton, for crisp structure with standout quality & extra smartness.

STAINLESS STEEL HARDWARE

As ever with FRAHM, the trims are the best, from oversized YKK zips, to the unbreakable stainless steel snaps & multiple shockcord barrel adjusters for tweaking your fit.

9 POCKETS

Most parkas have a few small pockets. This has nine. Two huge, secure 'bellows' cargo pockets can carry bottles of wine. Behind them are our famous(ish) hand pockets. The field pocket configuration means two large chest pockets as well, AND three internal pockets, including a zipped chest pocket for a smartphone.

We tailor for men from 5'4" to 6'10" tall.

With chest sizes from 36" to 56".

That means eleven sizes & free sleeve alterations, unique in jacket brands.

Importantly, we take time to tailor exceptional fabrics that drape flatteringly, not suck around the bits you didn't want to accentuate.

We make you look manly, in a "I want to feel good, but not look like I'm trying too hard" way.

If you're not sure of your size, we can check your exact size easily. Everyone here has been helping men with sizing for years.

After we've delivered that year's edition to our customers, we re-launch the next year's edition.

WHEN SHOULD I ORDER?

The short answer is always as soon as you can.

We're booking production space and getting fabric made twelve months before they've even been made.

Options gradually run out as we tick down from 12 months ahead to the arrival date.

If you see gaps in the options of colour/size, etc, that's an alarm bell.
